How to get the most out of your infrared sauna session.

3 Simple Tips to get the most out of your infrared sauna session.

With the use of infrared rising, we are now well aware of the many health and wellness benefits associated with regular use of infrared sauna, our users are already soaking up those benefits. As a wellness coach and mental health practitioner, for me, the best thing about infrared is that It works with the body as a whole, soothing mind, body and soul, all in one session! This is because infrared rays deeply penetrate tissues and kick up a level of detoxification, increasing the muscle soothing and happiness boosting benefits in one session.

If this is not enough here are a few easy tips to elevate relaxation and healing in your session.

Tip #1 - Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

You're going to sweat, so hydration is key! We recommend hydrating before, during and after your session. Why not add an extra layer of detox to your session by adding some fresh lemon to your water. Lemons contain plenty of vitamin C. Vitamin C is important for robust immune system as well as helping support cells to fight off pathogens, promoting the oxidant scavenging activity of the body, this protects us from stress and disease.

Tip #2 - Be present.

While some studios offer Netflix, we prefer a more mindful approach. You will notice a selection of conscious living books available to read while you enjoy your session, feel free to help yourself. Also, why not leave the phone outside your sauna. A break from the screen can be good for mental health. By all means put on a some relaxing music, a podcast or mediation but be mindful of your viewing. While the body is detoxing why not give the mind a rest too?

Tip #3 - Meet your needs.

Schedule your session to meet your own individual requirements, if you use the sauna to reenergise a morning session can be good, however if your desire is to relax, we recommend an evening session. There is nothing quite like soaking up the healing rays of infrared after a busy day. Whatever your needs learn to meet them, listening to your body is paramount in healing. You will also notice our in cabin chormotherpay lighting, including a colour guide, before your session consider what you would like from it, choose your colour accordingly, this can be adjusted throughout your session. We recommend choosing around 3 colours and sitting in each for 5-10 minutes. Finish your session with the colour relating to how you would like to feel, for example, I like to end with purple for a daytime sessions, as I find it very soothing, as well as promoting focus and presence. For an evening session I prefer to end in green, the colour of relaxation and healing.
